Pet Sitting & Dog Walking 

  I have been pet sitting and dog walking professionally since July 2006.  Prior to that, I have pet sat for countless friends and neighbors for as long as I can remember.
 

Dog Training

  I was a teaching assistant for Teamworks Dog Training Classes.  I aided a wide variety of classes, including puppy classes, Canine Good Citizen classes, Dominant Dogs, and Fearful Fidos.  For more information on the classes that I was involved, see the Dog Training Classes page.  To see the recommendation from the instructor, go to the recommendations page.

  I attended a two day seminar with Suzanne Clothier, a nationally recognized dog trainer taught at the Animal Protection Society in Mebane, NC.

  Farset and I just finished an Advanced Obedience class at PetSmart in Cary.  We have already graduated from Puppy  & Intermediate classes.  We will start back up with classes in the new year.

  In December 2007, I attended a class on "Walking Your Dog Like a Leader"

Education

  I attended the Veterinary Technician program at Central Carolina Community College for a year.  See links for more information on the program.

  I attended the Bird Ownership 101 class at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in June 2007.

  I attended the American Kennel Club & Canine Health Foundation's Breeders' Symposium held at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2008*

  I have taken numerous classes at the Wake County SPCA on a variety of topics including dog behavior, the older pet, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, and many more.

  I have just finished an online class, "Becoming a Veterinary Assistant" and will be taking the second class in the series soon.

  I attend a class on Confirmation held at Town and Country Animal Hospital.


First Aid

  I have been certified in pet first aid by the Red Cross in the Spring of 2005, 2006 and 2009.

Personal Experience

  I show Lagan and Farset at AKC conformation events.

  As an adult, I have owned 4 cats, 2 dogs, and countless fish.  See the Who We Are page for more information on our current companions.

  In addition, I have lived with more than 10 cats, snakes, a rat, guinea pigs, a hamster, a rabbit, and hermit crabs.  I have always lived with cats.

Houses

My husband and I have experience remodeling our homes, so I am quite capable in the case of a home emergency.

Publications

Lagan and I were mentioned in “Safe to Play” article on dog parks in June, 2007 issue of Dog Fancy magazine.

I was interviewed on cable news channel 14 (Triangle area service of Time Warner Cable) in regards to pet nutrition.
